Lucky Dube 1964-2007

I heard the news on NPR today on my drive to work that Lucky was shot in front of his kids in a failed car-jacking. It broke my heart.

I have seen him perform twice, and lament the fact that he won’t be able to share with us anymore. When you saw him perform he gave it 100%, his songs were emotional and moving, and the music seemed to have a unifying effect on the crowd as well as the 20 plus musicians and dancers he would cram onto the stage. It was magic.

New beginings

The Fall air always seems to carry something special in it just for me, and it usually involves a lot of change. And this year is no exception. What’s a guy to do?

Well, justunderthesurface.com has been sitting idle for a few months and all the commotion around here has nudged me into dusting off the pixels and start posting again. Oh, and I gave the site a new coat of paint.
